Tim Pawlenty signed legislation today approving a new $248 million football stadium. The Minnesota Legislature approved the plan Saturday in a strong bipartisan vote. The bill passed the House of Representatives 96 to 37 and the Senate 43 to 24. Construction of the new on-campus stadium will begin this summer, university officials said. Cooley, a 6-0, 205-pound defensive back helped lead his junior college team to an 11-1 record and a Central Valley Conference Championship in 2005 while being named CVC first-team all-conference.
